Mediator - Michelle Cohen Egan, Esq.
Michelle Egan has more than 30 years of experience litigating, negotiating, and resolving cases and disputes. Her diverse background brings unique qualification and deeper perspective to mediation.
Ms. Egan has litigated with Atlanta’s top international law firms, served as an Assistant Attorney General and Assistant District Attorney for the State of Georgia, clerked for a Superior Court Judge, and led a well-respected non-profit serving the healthcare needs of children.
As a national litigator, Ms. Egan's practice focused on consumer litigation under the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, toxic tort and asbestos-related litigation, and insurance coverage litigation. She also created a personalized business litigation practice helping local and international businesses and individuals navigate and resolve business disputes.
Drawing on her extensive and broad legal experience, Michelle mediates cases of all sizes and complexities. She commonly mediates claims arising out of business and contract disputes, partnership conflicts, real estate disputes, commercial and residential property tax appeals, complex probate, trust, and estate challenges, will contests, fiduciary duty disputes, beneficiary accounting conflicts, automobile accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, insurance coverage disputes, and general personal injury claims.
Ms. Egan is a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution in General Civil, Domestic Relations, and Probate mediation. In addition to her private mediation practice, Michelle also serves as a court-connected neutral for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Office of the Fulton County Courts, the DeKalb County Courts Dispute Resolution Center, the Cherokee County Courts ADR Program, and the Cobb County Superior and Probate Courts ADR Programs.
Ms. Egan is a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Georgia School of Law. She received her mediation training and certification through Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation and the Justice Center of Atlanta.
